Mr. Cochran, a Board Certified Specialist in North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law, is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2021 in the “Workers’ Compensation – Claimants” practice area. A listing in Best Lawyers, a peer-review publication, is regarded as a notable professional honor conferred on an attorney by his or her legal peers.
Mr. Cochran has been listed in each edition of The Best Lawyers in America since 2014.
Mr. Whittington is recognized by Best Lawyers as One to Watch in 2021 in the area of workers’ compensation – claimants law. Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” recognitions are typically awarded to attorneys who are earlier in their legal careers.
A North Carolina native, Mr. Whittington began working at Hardison & Cochran while he was a third-year law student at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. After graduating with honors and receiving his J.D. in 2016, he joined the law firm as a full-time attorney.
Mr. Cochran and Mr. Worthington represent workers who have suffered serious work-related injuries or illnesses in North Carolina and are having difficulty obtaining workers’ compensation benefits. Workers’ compensation insurance, which most employers in North Carolina are required to have to protect employees, is intended to pay the cost of medical care of injured employees and replace a portion of workers’ lost income after an on-the-job injury or illness.
