Michael D. Civis
Michael D. Civis brings a compassionate and committed approach to his work at Hardison & Cochran, where he represents injured individuals seeking justice and recovery. His journey to the legal profession began early, as he can’t remember a time he didn’t want to be a lawyer. Growing up in Pennsylvania and spending time in Minnesota and Illinois before moving to Wake Forest, North Carolina, in 2010, Michael developed a broad perspective and a deep empathy for the challenges individuals face.
Michael earned his B.A. in Philosophy with a Spanish minor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020, followed by his J.D. from Campbell University School of Law in 2024. While at Campbell, he gained valuable experience on the Willem Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Team, honing his skills in advocacy and strategic thinking.
Drawn to injury law for the chance to connect with people on a personal level, Michael is dedicated to supporting clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. He finds deep reward in helping to bring positive change to difficult situations, approaching each case as a unique challenge that requires both compassion and determination.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys playing golf, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and University of North Carolina, and spending time with his girlfriend and their beloved cats.
